Most foundation exams pass at 50% or 65%. PM² asks for 70%: thirty mistakes is the whole margin. The questions are at the knowledge and comprehension level, so the difficulty is breadth, not depth.
| Lifecycle | Initiating, Planning, Executing and Closing, with Monitor & Control running throughout |
|---|---|
| Phase gates | Ready for Planning, Ready for Executing, Ready for Closing |
| Governance | Appropriate Governance Body, Project Steering Committee, Project Owner, Solution Provider, Business Manager, Business Implementation Group, Project Manager, Project Core Team, Project Support Office |
| Artefacts | Project Initiation Request, Business Case, Project Charter, Project Handbook, Project Work Plan and the management plans |
| Mindsets | The attitudes and behaviours PM² expects from project teams |
The PM² Guide is published by the European Commission and can be downloaded at no cost. Everything the exam asks is in it, which makes self-study possible — and makes a high pass mark fair.
Learn the governance roles and which side they sit on — business or provider — and the artefacts of each phase. Then practise with full sets of a hundred: the length of the exam is part of the test.
