Training, exams and certification
There is no single public price list for ITIL (Version 5) exams. PeopleCert sells them through accredited partners, as packages that always include the exam voucher. These are real package prices for every module, and the rule that decides what you actually pay above Foundation.

PeopleCert, which owns ITIL, does not publish one retail fee for ITIL (Version 5) the way The Open Group does for TOGAF. Vouchers reach candidates through Accredited Training Organizations and partners, usually bundled with the official eBook, with eLearning, or with a classroom course. The price therefore depends on the package and on the country, and any figure quoted without saying what is inside it is not comparable.
The fair comparison is package against package. Below are GoToCertify's prices, in euro and excluding VAT, with the contents of each package spelled out.
Three packages exist for each module. The Exam Bundle has the exam voucher, the official eBook and the Learning Resource Kit. eLearning adds the official interactive eLearning and auto-marked sample papers. eLearning+ adds an official mock exam and a free exam re-take.

Prices are Exam Bundle · eLearning · eLearning+. The asterisk marks Exam Bundles that are sold for re-sits only, for the reason explained next.
Foundation, the Foundation Bridge and AI Governance can be self-studied: no course is required, so the Exam Bundle is a complete route. For the other modules it is different. Accredited training or ITIL Official eLearning is mandatory, and PeopleCert does not release the result without proof of completion.
So for Product, Service, Experience, Strategy, Transformation and the Managing Professional Transition, the realistic first-attempt price is the eLearning package, not the Exam Bundle. The Exam Bundle is there for people who have already done the training and need another attempt.
The cheapest useful route depends on what you already hold. An ITIL 4 Foundation holder does not need to sit Foundation again: ITIL 4 certifications remain valid prerequisites for the Version 5 modules, and the Bridge at EUR 236 is optional.
Designations are earned by passing a set of modules. Using the Exam Bundle for Foundation and the eLearning package for every module that requires training:

The Transition is open to holders of ITIL 4 Managing Professional, ITIL 4 Master, ITIL v3 Expert or ITIL v3 Master. It is two open-book exams in English and awards the ITIL (Version 5) Managing Professional designation.
With eLearning+ the re-take is included. Otherwise PeopleCert offers Take2, a re-sit option that must be bought before the first attempt and is valid for six months from the initial exam date. It cannot be bought after a fail.
ITIL (Version 5) certificates are issued with a three-year renewal date. They are renewed by logging CPD points through PeopleCert Plus membership, or by passing another ITIL certification. Passing any Version 5 exam also renews ITIL 4 certificates, because they sit in the same product suite.
Yes. Every package listed here includes the official exam voucher. The exam is sat online with remote proctoring.
No. Foundation, the Foundation Bridge and AI Governance can be self-studied. Training is mandatory for Product, Service, Experience, Strategy, Transformation and the Managing Professional Transition.
Price is not the deciding factor. PeopleCert currently plans to retire all ITIL 4 modules on 31 December 2027, so a new candidate is better served by Version 5.
