Training, exams and certification
PECB exams are taken online in the PECB Exams application, with a remote invigilator watching through your webcam. Install the app and run its compatibility check before the day, log in 30 minutes early, keep a valid photo ID ready and sit alone in a clutter-free room. Multiple-choice results appear as soon as you submit.

| Computer and network | At least 200 MB free, a webcam (720p, 30 fps), a microphone, 1 Mbps upload and download, latency below 200 ms. One monitor only; disconnect docking stations. |
| Work devices | Firewalls, antivirus and pop-up blockers on company devices can block the app. Ask your IT to mark it as safe, or use a private computer. |
| Apps to close | Teams, AnyDesk, TeamViewer, Remote Desktop, Quick Assist, Snipping Tool and Copilot must be closed, or the exam will not start. |
| Booking | Schedule, reschedule or cancel from your myPECB dashboard. Inside the app, start times are shown in UTC. |
| Which document | A valid, unexpired photo ID showing your full name, year of birth and expiry date. |

| Privacy | Cover your personal number, address, day and month of birth, place of birth and similar details when you show it. If the camera image is unclear you can upload a JPEG, PNG or PDF; uploads are deleted after the session. |
| The room | You alone, good light, no clutter: one computer, one monitor, one keyboard, one mouse. |

| Desktop computers | An external webcam is required, showing your hands, the keyboard and 30 cm on each side. Laptops can use the built-in camera. |
| Not allowed | Headphones, phones, tablets, a second monitor, pens, food, coats or hats; reading questions aloud; AI tools, recordings or screenshots. Water only, in a plastic bottle with no label. |
| Open-book exams | A hard copy of the main standard, the course materials and your own course notes (printed or in the app), and a hard copy dictionary. |
| Entry | The app lets you in 30 minutes before the start. Accept the terms, fill in the emergency contact form and tick Non-Native Speaker if it applies: you get 20% extra time. |

| Verification | The invigilator asks for a 360-degree view of the room and your ID, and sees your screen throughout the exam. |
| Breaks | One 5-minute restroom break, requested with Need Help. |
| If the connection drops | The app closes but your progress is saved. Offline or away for more than 10 minutes, the exam is terminated and PECB contacts you within 48 business hours. |
| Your result | Multiple-choice exams show the result as soon as you submit. Close the app right after submitting. |
| Misconduct | AI tools, recordings or screenshots end the exam at once, and no further attempt is granted, even a free one. |
