Training, exams and certification
The Open Group exams, TOGAF included, are delivered by Pearson VUE: online with OnVUE from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. You book, reschedule and read your score report in your Pearson account, reached from The Open Group website. Reschedule at least 48 hours before, bring an ID that matches your booking name exactly, and expect no breaks.

| Where you book | On The Open Group website, which opens your Pearson VUE account for booking, rescheduling and score reports. |
|---|---|
| Online or test centre | Most exams can be taken online with OnVUE; you can also sit them at a Pearson VUE test centre. |
| Rescheduling | At least 48 hours before the appointment. A missed appointment is a no-show and uses up the voucher. |
| Vouchers | Valid for one specific exam, single use, and they cannot be extended after the expiry date. |
| Appointment time | OnVUE runs almost 24 hours a day: check a.m. and p.m. carefully; 12:00 a.m. is midnight. |
| English not your first language | Extra time is available for ESL candidates; the extension appears once the booking is complete. |
| System test | You need a passing OnVUE system test on record before you are admitted. |
|---|---|
| Computer | Webcam, microphone and enough internet speed, and you must be able to close every other application, antivirus and firewall. If you cannot administer a work computer, use a home computer or a test centre. |
| Room | A walled room with the door closed. Nobody may interrupt you. |
| ID | A valid government-issued photo ID with the name exactly as booked: passport, driving licence, national identity card or residence permit. |
| Talking to the proctor | In English. |
| Breaks | None. Leaving the room ends the exam. |
| Open book | In Part 2 the TOGAF Standard is built into the exam behind the REFERENCE button; in the combined exam only in the second section. Part 1 is closed book. |
|---|---|
| Scratch pad | An on-screen scratch pad for notes, wiped at the end. |
| Appointment length | Usually the exam time plus 15 minutes for check-in, tutorial and NDA. |
| Technical problems | Tell the proctor at once and ask for the lost time to be added. |
| Result | Pass or fail within minutes; the score report is also in your Pearson account. |
|---|---|
| Certification | If the results are acceptable, The Open Group emails you within six working days to complete certification. Certificates are PDF; badges arrive through Credly within 7 to 10 days. |
| If you fail | Wait at least one month. After a failed combined exam you retake only the part you failed. |
| Conduct | Using brain dumps or sharing exam questions leads to disqualification and decertification. |
